Dr. Astrid Gonzalez

Astrid Gonzalez, Pediatric Dentistry, Tallahassee, FL

Dr. Astrid Gonzalez is passionate about oral health and prevention through education. She believes the key to a healthy smile is through healthy habits and good nutrition.

Although there is no doubt she loves being a dentist, Dr. Astrid Gonzalez didn't always know she wanted to be a dentist. She grew up building robots and happily identifies as a math nerd. In high school, she was on a very competitive robotics team that won a national title. She received her Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University and even taught a summer robotics course at MIT.

What brought Dr. Astrid Gonzalez to Dentistry was her search for a way to combine a life of service with her technical skills. She then attended Harvard University's Pre-Med Post-Baccalaureate program in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Dr. Astrid Gonzalez received her DDS from New York University College of Dentistry in 2011 and completed a General Practice Residency at St Joseph's Regional Medical Center in 2012, a level II trauma center in New Jersey.

She then went on to work at Childsmiles Pediatric Dentistry in New Jersey for 3 years where she developed her passion for working with children. Before opening Tiny Teeth of Tally, Dr. Astrid Gonzalez served as part-time faculty at Lecom School of Dental Medicine and practiced at Pediatric Dentistry of Erie In Pennsylvania.

Dr. Gonzalez is an affiliate member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. She loves attending the AAPD annual session to keep up with the changes and challenges in pediatric dentistry. Dr. Gonzalez is also an active member of the local Florida Dental Association chapter, and a member of the ADA.
