Although there is no doubt she loves being a dentist, Dr. Astrid Gonzalez didn't always know she wanted to be a dentist. She grew up building robots and happily identifies as a math nerd. In high school, she was on a very competitive robotics team that won a national title. She received her Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University and even taught a summer robotics course at MIT.
What brought Dr. Astrid Gonzalez to Dentistry was her search for a way to combine a life of service with her technical skills. She then attended Harvard University's Pre-Med Post-Baccalaureate program in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Dr. Astrid Gonzalez received her DDS from New York University College of Dentistry in 2011 and completed a General Practice Residency at St Joseph's Regional Medical Center in 2012, a level II trauma center in New Jersey.
She then went on to work at Childsmiles Pediatric Dentistry in New Jersey for 3 years where she developed her passion for working with children.
Before opening Tiny Teeth of Tally, Dr. Astrid Gonzalez served as part-time faculty at Lecom School of Dental Medicine and practiced at Pediatric Dentistry of Erie In Pennsylvania.
